Fall Afternoon in Moseley Woods

Monday, October 24th, 2011

This weekend we took a short trip over to Moseley Woods, a small forest park in Newburyport along the Merrimack River. It has some nice trails of reasonable length for a toddler, a playground, and some swings. It’s also a bit more chill than some of the other neighborhood playgrounds.

Maddox is still completely obsessed with the great outdoors though, and so we’re trying to squeeze as much of them in as possible before entering the frigid winter months here in New England.

Make ‘Em Laugh

Saturday, August 29th, 2009

Maddox has learned how to laugh. He used to shriek and smile, and you could see him trying to figure it out. Lately, it’s happened more and more frequently, and tonight, we were able to get a video of it while Dad “dive bombed” him on the couch.

Hearing him laugh is the most wonderful thing in the world. =)

Back From Vacation

While we were on vacation, Maddox learned how to drive:

Here he is enjoying a good book after a long day:

He’s also getting better with coordinating his limbs – he can grasp objects now, and is starting to use his hands to push or pull things. Here he is with his ankles crossed, staring at some questionable wall art:

And here we are, back at home, with Maddox’s new favorite toy. We weren’t sure what the heck it was at first, but eventually, we figured out that it was a frog. Mads doesn’t care – it rattles, squeaks, crackles and he can grab its feet. To ask for more would be just plain ridiculous.

When he was playing with his froggie with Auntie Cass, Maddox laughed for the first time. It was so wonderful to hear. I didn’t get the giggle in the video, but there are lots of smiles. =)
