Two Months Old

I’m at home alone today with Maddox for, believe it or not, the first time since he was born – which just happens to be two months ago today.

It’s pretty amazing to compare where he is now to where he was a month ago (let alone two!). He’s interacting so much more, both with us, the world around him, and he even has begun to notice the cats. We’ve rediscovered his fondness for resembling a famous Mexican dish, the Baby Burrito

(Even when sleeping, he smiles as soon as you wrap the blanket around him – it’s really cool). He’s vocalizing a lot more as well, in the happy, baby sounds way. Even his cry is sounding “older.” We’re also able to start interacting with him on a more person-to-person level, like “reading” Goodnight Moon

He gets to see my family in just three weeks when we all take a trip up to Acadia National Park in Maine, and I’m sure they will be amazed as well to see how much he’s grown since they first saw him.

Below is a picture of one of his newest activities:

That would be staring at a piece of art we have on our wall called Happy Flight. The piece stars the luck dragon Falkor from the moving Neverending Story, and every morning he spends at least a half hour marveling at it. More and more he’s been laughing and smiling at it as well. I wasn’t sure why until I looked at the picture again

and realized: of course he loves it, it’s a picture of a big happy smiling face!
